Susan Trolier-McKinstry to UFFC-S Fellows Chair by Mike Garvey, UFFC-S Newsletter Editor-in-Chief The UFFC-S AdCom Elected Membership recently confirmed the appointment of Susan Trolier-McKinstry to the position of Chair of the UFFC-S Fellows Committee. The role of the UFFC-S Fellows Committee is to review and rank the UFFC nominations received by IEEE. The UFFC-S Fellows Committee evaluation is extremely important, because it is an impartial and even-handed view of the nominee’s merit, by persons who are familiar with his or her work. Nominations subsequently move to the 51 member IEEE Fellows Committee who make recommendations to the IEEE Board of Directors. Susan is a professor of ceramic science and engineering at The Pennsylvania State University, where she also serves as the director of the W. M. Keck Smart Materials Integration Laboratory and co-director of the Nanofab. Susan was elevated to IEEE Fellow in 2009 for: Susan served as President of the UFFC-S for the term 2008–2009 and is a Past President for Ferroelectrics.
