3. Ferroelectric Awards
Awards and recognitions were presented during the banquet at the Caves de Alianca.

The 2012 Ferroelectrics Young Investigator Award
The Ferroelectrics Young Investigator Award recognizes scientists/engineers, 40 years of age or younger, for their contributions to fundamental research, integration, application, or education in Ferroelectrics. The 2012 Ferroelectrics Young Investigator Award was presented to Prof. Hajime Nagata, a junior associate professor at the Tokyo University of Science, Japan for his contribution to the development of lead-free piezoelectric ceramics, highlighting the relationship between processing, structure, and ferroelectric/piezoelectric properties.

The 2012 Ferroelectrics Recognition Award
The Ferroelectrics Recognition Award is presented annually to honor a member of the Ferroelectrics for his/her outstanding achievements in scientific work as well as in promoting the Ferroelectrics Community. The 2012 Recognition Award was presented to Prof. Andy Bell, Director of IMR and Professor of Electronic Materials at the University of Leeds, UK, for his contribution to the development of pyroelectric materials and devices, microwave dielectrics and phenomenological modeling applied to barium titanate, relaxors, piezoelectric single crystals and PZT.
