IEEE Ernst Weber Engineering Leadership Recognition Guidelines
Description of Recognition
For exceptional managerial leadership in the fields of interest to the IEEE as reflected in an executive role by attaining preeminent stature in the eyes of the engineering community as an individual whose inspirational, creative and professional contributions have been extraordinarily successful, exemplary, and persuasive in pursuing the theory, planning, implementation and direction of outstanding achievements, contributions or service in the field of electrotechnology.
These attributes may be expressed by:
Effectiveness in leadership of the development and realization of successful programs, products, and/or services requiring a high level of professional capability covering application, design, manufacturing and service engineering;
Technical and economic contributions to the success of an enterprise;
Successful efforts to raise the level of engineering excellence and practice within and without the organization;
Accomplishments, directly or indirectly, in elevating the role and prestige of electrical engineering and computer science, and engineers and computer scientists in industry and society; or
Championing exemplary management practices in the provision of continuing education, and for the proper utilization, professional development and recognition of professionals in the fields of interest of the IEEE.
Eligibility: No restrictions or preferences as to the IEEE membership, nationality, race, sex, creed or age.
Form of Recognition: Certificate and crystal sculpture.
