Dr. Pilar Molina Gaudo, IEEE Senior Member, was born in Zaragoza (Spain). She is currently full time Assistant Professor of the Department of Electronics and Communications at the University of Zaragoza, Spain.

She obtained her Telecommunications Engineer degree in 1997 and Ph. D. Thesis in 2004, both from the University of Zaragoza. Her research field is radio frequency class-E power amplifiers for wireless applications.

Soon after she joined, she found in the IEEE web site about the Women In Engineering Committee. She noted was always very interested in this subject and soon became involved with this group and their activities. She started a WIE-Affinitty Group, the first AG of WIE in the IEEE (Spain Section). This was the begining of her volunteer involvement with IEEE. "We participated in a conference and thereafter, in 2001, I became a member of the Women in Engineering Committee".

She was elected Region 8 Student Activities Vice-Chair in October 2002 and re-elected in October 2003 by the Region 8 Committee. Therefore, she also serves in the Region 8 Committee, the IEEE- RAB Student Activities Committee and the R8 OpCom. She is also counselor of the Universidad de Zaragoza Student Branch and the Chair of the Electronic Communications SAC Subcommittee. She is member Women in Engineering Committee of the IEEE Board since 2001. She is also currently member of the IEEE History Committee.

Dr. Gaudo has also been involved in Region activities (Region 8 Vice Chair of Student Activities).She noted her volunteer work for IEEE has not only influenced her life, but has changed it profoundly. She is very grateful and enjoys very much what she does for the organization. She noted, "I continue being a member, because I appreciate very much the technical opportunities, the continuing education process, the networking among my peers and as I have mentioned before, because I enjoy very much being a volunteer. I believe that the future of IEEE is more international than it is now and I will like to contribute to see it happen."
