Educational Activities Society Outreach Committee (SOOC)

The Educational Activities Board (EAB) Society Outreach Committee (SOOC) reports to, and is a Standing Committee, of the EAB.

MISSION
To offer a quality and financially viable service to Societies/Councils in the identification and production of valuable and timely educational products and services.

SCOPE
The SOOC will have the lead responsibility within EAB of building and maintaining strong working relationships with IEEE Technical Societies and Councils in order to work with these entities as partners.

FUNCTIONS
1. Work with the leaders of IEEE Technical Societies and Councils to establish and support programs/initiatives that will deliver timely and effective educational products to the general public, the profession and IEEE members.

2. Work with key leaders within the IEEE Technical Societies and Councils to establish means for sharing information and strengthening linkages among the Societies/Councils so that educational services can be provided more effectively to the general public as well as to Society members.

3. Continually seek and explore new ideas for harnessing the combined strengths of the IEEE Technical Societies and Councils and EAB to develop new educational services for the benefit of the general public, the profession and IEEE members.
