Dear IEEE GOLD members, IEEE Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) exists to encourage young engineers to make their dreams happen and thus be an inspiration for humanity around the world. The power of the IEEE is rooted in the diversity of its members, and the common purpose we share to make a true difference in society using our knowledge, skills, and empathy. In line with the IEEE Envisioned Future we strive to engage our members to use their technological skills to improve global conditions and thus make a difference to those most in need. IEEE GOLD enables the professions of young engineers and scientists by providing them with opportunities to develop themselves professionally and technically. We also seek to ensure a smooth transition into the workplace for young technical professionals who have recently graduated. It is truly an honour and privilege to be your MGA GOLD Committee Chair for 2009. I have always had pride in being an IEEE member. My volunteerism began as a student, and since then my involvement in the IEEE has shaped both my personal and professional life in a positive way. I truly hope that the IEEE has a similar influence on your life. The MGA GOLD Committee will work tirelessly towards meeting the needs of young technical professionals around the world. We are challenged by great diversity in members' needs due to differences in circumstances and culture, but are unified by the common purpose of working together and inclusively to advance technology for the benefit of humanity. As a result, we offer many exciting initiatives at global, regional, and national level. Please browse this website to find out more. Best wishes, Adrian Pais | ![]() |
