Committee Business

The TAB Nominations and Appointments Committee helps to identify nominees to stand for election to certain TAB organizational units. The Committee will also review the qualifications of those nominated for, or appointed to, membership of certain TAB entities.

Guidelines for Agenda Item Submission

Meetings: The TAB Nominations and Appointments Committee conducts business via teleconference and electronic mail. The committee has monthly teleconferences, or more often if needed, based on deadlines in preparation for the OU meetings.

Due to the sensitive nature of its activities, this committee does not distribute agendas and minutes.
TAB and TAB committee agendas, minutes, reports, and supporting documentation contain proprietary information of the IEEE and are solely for the use of IEEE volunteers and staff.

TAB Nominations & Appointments Process

In accordance with IEEE objectives, TAB has established an equitable nominations and appointments process. The process has been developed to choose a slate of the best-qualified persons for the various positions throughout the TAB organization. It was also developed to involve a wide range of members in the selection process. It is essential that all candidates nominated for office are highly qualified, and it is therefore essential that all members show great diligence and exercise judgment in making nominations.

Use the TAB Nomination Form to nominate either yourself or an individual for an available TAB position. Please submit the completed form to p.dunne@ieee.org.

TAB Position Questionnaire Interest Form (coming soon)

An on-line version of a TAB Position Questionnaire Form will be available to indicate an interest in the various positions a volunteer can serve on, whether appointed or elected. The interest will be forwarded to the TAB Nominations and Appointments Committee for consideration. If an individual is recommended by the TAB N&A Committee, they will be notified to confirm willingness. Job Descriptions

TAB Committee job descriptions will include the estimated time required for volunteers who are interested in serving as Chairs and Members of TAB Committees. A brief description of the committee will also be provided, along with the term of office and any other commitments known by virtue of holding that particular position.
