About the IEEE UFFC Newsletter The Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control (UFFC) Society Newsletter includes time sensitive news useful to UFFC members and highlights content from the current issue of IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control. Welcome to the inaugural edition of the IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control Society Electronic Newsletter.
The 66th consecutive meeting of the IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium (IFCS) was held in Baltimore, Maryland, May 20th-24th, 2012.
Come network with your peers and learn about the latest technology that affects you and your profession.
Throughout most of its existence, since 19531, the question of how the UFFC Society is doing was usually answered by citing the number of members the society had, the number of attendees at our conferences, the number of articles published in our Transactions, and the Society’s financial health. Today, we have access to many more metrics.
IEEE was founded on January 1, 1963, through the merger of the AIEE (founded 1884) and IRE (founded 1912). This year, 2012, is IEEE's 50th year, and we're celebrating it modestly, focusing primarily on honoring those members who have been with us continuously since the beginning. The IEEE Division II Delegate-Director serves a year as director-elect (2014) and two years as director (2015-2016). A full position description is available at http://www.ieee.org/documents/position_division_delegate_director.pdf. The IEEE UFFC Society seeks volunteers for the position of IEEE UFFC Newsletter Associate Editor for the Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control groups. Self-nominations are allowed and encouraged. For additional information, and nominations, please contact Nazanin Bassiri-Gharb at uffc.newsletter@gmail.com. For any comments, suggestions etc. please contact Editor-in-Chief Nazanin Bassiri-Gharb at uffc.newsletter@gmail.com. |
